Another Monday at lab.

Monday's lab was.. indescribable. I had VIVA (lab oral exam) and a lab test on the same day and the experiment wasn't easily done as well.. my pressure equalizer machine broke down, it couldn't measure the pressure change and all.. Stella and I made several attempts but we decided to give it up cos all of us were so sian of waiting around in that smelly lab with the freaking hot weather. anyone can tell you that 3291 labs suck. the inorg portion is supposed to be easier and yet all of us are already finding it straining. I cannot imagine when organic lab comes. i think i might sit in front of my fumehood and cry my eyes out if i don't get my product.

This was what happened to my RBF.

POOF! after ONE FULL HOUR of heating, and recrystallizing. this was what became of my cereal crystals. kinda looks like soil or mud.

After all that hoolabaloo about the experiment, I handed in the report into that grey box where all reports are to be handed up. But i realised i forgot to let the TA sign my data sheet! so i nicely told the lab auntie to help me open to box. Guess what. she actually scolded me for making her have extra things to do. "You all ah.. like that also can forget. TSK! nah! take! take!" and she unlocked the grey box with that frown on her face. I still had to say thank you. so much for being nice.

VIVA was another killer. sitting with AP Leong in the room was like being sentenced to death in the lion's den! so scary! he asked me many many weird questions, some of which i managed to answer but others, i think the answers i gave were quite silly. Then my worst fear came. he started asking me about experiment 2! the one which involved the most on crystal field theory which i haven't learnt in 2111 yet. so he asked me about the d orbital splitting pattern and what-not.. and i gave him that crystal-field-theory look (haha!). I stared at him for about 10 seconds and finally:
"erm, sir actually i don't know the answer because i'm taking CM 2111 this sem only"
"eh? how come?"
"oh cos i went for SEP blah blah blah..."
"Aiyah! then i cannot ask you about this already! tomorrow during 2111 lecture then i'll start on this topic! wah.. you lucky ah.. *smirk on his face*"

PHEW! i managed a lucky escape. but then the overall grade he gave wasn't as good as expected. oh wells.. haha. Tomorrow 8am lecture again!
